Checking the buckle tension

Use a leader to discover the mid-point on the Automotive V Belts 's lengthiest run between pulleys.

Use a leader to discover the midway factor on the belt's lengthiest run between pulleys. Keep the buckle between finger and thumbs at this factor and shift it from aspect to aspect.

If it goes more than 1/2 in. (13 mm) it is too slack - any less activity and it is too limited. Check the actual deflection suggested in the car guide.

Adjusting the drive belt

To tighten up the buckle, handle the creator outwards with a timber or tubing.

A drive buckle is usually tightened or slackened by way of an adjustable rotate where the creator is set up on the engine.

The creator itself was created to rotate on the two screws holding it, so that it can swing out and away from the engine. But its activity is governed and can be restrained by a placed steel band connected to the 100 % free section of the creator.

Belt modification is created by slackening off the rotate screws, then those on the placed band, so that the creator is without any cost to go.

Loosen the rotate screws on the creator, then on the insurance adjuster band.

To tighten up the buckle, Rubber V Belt use a powerful timber to get the creator away from the engine - a hammer handle will do - while you test the buckle stress with the contrary.
